A family have been warned they face being blacklisted by postal staff unless they keep their cat under control, the Royal Mail confirmed.

Carl White, of Chichester Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire, received a warning letter from the postal service after family pet Lana scratched a postman's hand as he pushed letters through the letterbox.

'Enquirer' mag seeks protection

US supermarket tabloid the 'National Enquirer' plans to file for bankruptcy protection.

Owner American Media said yesterday it would file a pre-packaged plan that should allow it to emerge from bankruptcy less than 60 days after the filing. The company, which also publishes 'Men's Fitness', 'Shape' and 'Star' magazines, said all of its operations would continue and the re-organisation would not affect its business or its staff.

Lily Allen suffers a miscarriage

Singer Lily Allen has lost her baby, the singer's spokesman said.

She and boyfriend Sam Cooper have asked for privacy at a "deeply distressing time". Allen (25) was around six months pregnant. The singer previously had a miscarriage when she was dating Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons in 2008.

Broadcaster fighting cancer

Broadcaster and writer Danny Baker (53) revealed that he has cancer and is to undergo chemotherapy.

The Radio 5 Live host, who has presented shows for Radio 1 and Radio 2, told fans and listeners in a statement online, explaining why he had been absent from his regular Saturday show.

Actor killed in gunman mix-up

An actor playing the role of a masked gunman was shot dead by a village watchman in the Philippines who mistook him for a real criminal.

Guard Eddie Cuizon shot Kirk Abella (32), who was wearing a ski mask and carrying a toy gun, just as the actor was directed to speed away on a motorcycle.
