Karima 'Ruby' El Mahroug, the woman who prosecutors say received money from Italian ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi in exchange for sex in 2010, has protested her innocence outside Milan's criminal courts.
Denied her chance of speaking on the witness stand, Ms El Mahroug told reporters yesterday she had never had sexual relations with the media mogul.
Mr Berlusconi (76), is on trial accused of paying for sex with Ms El Mahroug when she was a 17-year-old minor, and then abusing his power of office to cover it up.
As a result of this campaign, she said: "Many people regard me as a prostitute even if this trial has shown exactly the opposite is true."
