Girl (6) dies and six others injured after bouncy castle explodes in restaurant
A young girl has died and six others were injured when a bouncy castle exploded in a restaurant's garden.
The victims were flung more than 45ft (13m) into the air during the freak accident on Sunday in Spain.
The injured people were rushed to hospital by air ambulance and the little girl died overnight from her injuries.
The Sun is reporting that six other girls and boys, aged between three and 11, were hurt when the inflatable castle blew up. They suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Debris was found more than 120ft away from the original site, including in the branches of trees.
An investigation is underway into the accident that reportedly took place in Caldes de Malavella, a town in Girona, Spain at about 3.45pm on Sunday.
The newspaper is reporting that one of the air valves failed and exploded when the pressure inside built up.
The Mayor of Caldes de Malavella, Salvador Balliu says the bouncy castle was new and described the explosion as "very very strong".
