Gang accused of sex trafficking as alleged victim claims rape in Fred West’s house

A gang accused of trafficking women into the UK for sex appeared in court today, after an alleged victim claimed she was raped in the former home of serial killers Fred and Rose West.

Seven people are accused of a variety of offences, two of whom were recently extradited from the Czech Republic.

Iveta Viragova, 42, and Votjech Virag, 25, both from Tooting, south-west London, and Lumila Nistorova, 53, from Gloucester, each face five counts including conspiracy to traffic for sexual exploitation and immigration offences.

They appeared at Croydon Crown Court alongside three other defendants.

Magezi Clague, 41, of Mitcham Road, Tooting, is accused of six counts of rape, conspiracy to control prostitution, conspiracy to traffic for sexual exploitation and false imprisonment.

Eddezider Herak, 35, of no fixed address, is charged with two counts of rape, conspiracy to traffic for sexual exploitation, conspiracy to control prostitution and conspiracy to break UK immigration law.

Care worker Harriet Nvandi, 55, from Battersea, south-west London, was the only defendant to be released on bail. She must observe a curfew between 7pm and 7am except when working, cannot go outside the M25 and has surrendered her passport.

She is accused of conspiracy to control prostitution and false imprisonment.

In a separate hearing linked to the same case, Zdeno Sarissky, 28, of no fixed address, appeared at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court.

He is charged with conspiracy to traffic for sexual exploitation, conspiracy to control prostitution and conspiracy to break UK immigration law.

Sarissky will appear at Croydon Crown Court on October 6, and the other six will appear at the same court on November 3.

The charges emerged in July after a woman, believed to have been illegally trafficked into the UK, claimed she was raped at the Wests' former home.

She said she was attacked while being held by a pimp at 25 Midland Road, Gloucester.

This was the address where the Wests began their murder spree, and the remains of Fred West's eight-year-old stepdaughter Charmaine were found buried under the kitchen floor.

The infamous couple later moved to a house in Cromwell Road, also in Gloucester, where multiple murder victims were found. That property was later demolished.
