Fans cheering 'bionic' woman on to finish line

A PARALYSED woman is more than halfway through her bid to tackle the London Marathon in a 'bionic' suit.

Battling rain and wind yesterday, Claire Lomas (pictured) remained in high spirits as she crossed Tower Bridge. Friends, family -- including husband Dan and daughter Maisie -- and members of the public cheered Ms Lomas (32) on in her bid to be the first person to complete the marathon in a ReWalk suit.

The £43,000 (€52,800) suit enables people with lower-limb paralysis to stand, walk and climb stairs through motion sensors and a computer system. The race began on April 22 and Ms Lomas is set to complete it on May 8.
