Failed boss could be stripped of pay-off

GEORGE Entwistle, the former BBC director general who stepped down after less than two months in the job, could be stripped of his £450,000 (€562,000) pay-out.

Maria Miller, the Culture Secretary, said the public spending watchdog had the power to review the payment and said Mr Entwistle should consider whether it was right.
