Club to probe pub attack on Henson by new teammate

London Daily Telegraph

ENGLISH rugby union side Bath have launched an investigation after major summer signing Gavin Henson was knocked out by a teammate in a city centre pub.

Henson, who joined Bath from London Welsh, was out with new teammates in the Pig and Fiddle pub on Wednesday night when he was floored, it is believed, by England Saxons flanker Carl Fearns.

Footage of the incident, which was captured on a mobile phone, was posted on the internet yesterday. It appears to show Henson arguing with Fearns, who is held back by fellow back-row forward Guy Mercer. Fearns then leans over and lands a short right-hook to Henson's face.

Bath declined to confirm Fearns as Henson's assailant but issued a statement admitting that members of their squad were involved in the incident. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
