CCTV: man swings for robbers with baseball bat after jewellery raid
Man swings at robbers with a baseball bat as they raid his jewellery business and make off with £50,000 of watches and a £15,000 diamond ring
A man tried to defend his jewellery business by taking on axe-wielding robbers with a baseball bat.
It was after thieves targeted the store in Whitton, West London belonging to 41-year-old Mark Guess.
They made off with £50,000 of watches and a £15,000 diamond ring.
Mr Guess said: "I was a bit stupid but I went for them. It is my business that I have worked so hard for. I just thought it's my shop and you are robbing me'.
He has owned the shop for 15 years but this is the sixth time he has seen the shop raided in the 25 years he has worked there.
Scotland Yard confirmed that detectives are investigating the robbery but no arrests have yet been made.
