CCTV: Good Samaritan’s skull fractured after vicious and unprovoked attack

Police in the UK have released CCTV footage showing a brutal and unprovoked attack in Nottingham, which left the victim with a fractured skull.

Michael Kane, who was visiting from Glasgow was hit in the face by an unidentified man after he tried to help a woman who was in distress.

After one punch, Mr Kane was knocked unconscious. Although another group is seen in the footage, no one immediately offers help.

The above CCTV was released to help identify a man who attacked Mr Kane.

Detective Inspector Mike Allen said the incident was deeply concerning.

"It's concerning that a good Samaritan can come over to the aid of a young woman, and for that trouble literally get knocked unconscious and have his life put at risk.

"We would urge anyone who knows anything about this incident to call us."
