CCTV: Gangs of youths launch unprovoked attack on wedding guest walking home
Terrifying CCTV footage has emerged of a man being attacked by a large gang of men as he made his way home from a friend's wedding.
The 29-year-old was walking along Tower Bridge in London when he was set upon by one of the group, who punched him in the back of the head.
He fell to the ground as the rest of the 12-strong group began to punch and kick him as he lay there helpless.
The attached clip shows the prolonged attack in which the men took turns in assaulting their victim.
The incident took place on Sunday, May 31, at about 10pm - but City of London Police have just released the violent footage in an attempt to capture the wedding guest's assailants.
The gang of youths are all believed to be of Asian origin, and aged between their late teens and early twenties.
They were wearing hooded tops, jackets and tracksuit bottoms at the time of the attack.
It is also understood that the men spoke in East London accents.
PC Oliver Gent said: "A group of young men carried out a vicious, cowardly and unprovoked attack on a lone male minding his own business.
"The victim suffered several blows to the head and body and was lucky to walk away with only cuts and bruises.
"It is paramount that we catch those responsible as the group’s next victim might end up with very serious injuries.
