Woman thrown to ground in 'nasty' robbery outside London Hindu temple

Police in England have released dramatic CCTV footage showing a robbery outside a Hindu temple in London.

A 52-year-old woman who was standing outside the temple on Clarenden Rise, Lewisham was approached by a man wearing a crash helmet who dragged her to the ground.

The attacker then stole her necklace, believed to be worth around €660. He then jumped on the back of a moped to escape.

Footage captured by the temple's CCTV system shows drivers either slowing down or stopping while the attack took place.

The incident, which took place on June 20 at around 4.40pm, is being investigated by the Met Police, who are asking any witnesses to come forward.

"We are urgently seeking any information regarding this nasty crime, which has left the victim shaken from her ordeal," said Detective Constable Alexander Hamilton, from Lewisham CID.

"Please come forward if you know anything, witnessed anything, or you know who the men in the CCTV images are."
