The incident took place last Friday sometime between 8.20pm and 9pm, and was captured by a nearby CCTV camera.

The video shows two men sitting outside the café on the city’s Wine Street, drinking and speaking with a passer-by.

One of the men, who appears to be holding a bottle of spirits, can be seen kicking the shop window and falling down.

The other man removes the bottle from his hands and helps him to his feet, at which point he turns to the Starbucks window again.

The man, who is described by police as being in his 30s, repeatedly kicks the window until the glass begins to crack.

Although failing to break the window, the attack caused extensive damage which police from Avon and Somerset Constabulary said will cost hundreds of pounds to repair.
