Man arrested after allegedly wielded machete at McDonald's
A man has been arrested after allegedly wielding a machete at a McDonald's restaurant.
Scotland Yard said the man had already fled the restaurant in Welling, south London, when police were called at about 11.50am.
He was arrested a short time later on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
A spokesman said the incident is not terror related and it is still being investigated.
He said: "Officers attended but the man had fled the scene. There were no reported injuries.
"A man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
"He was taken to a south London police station and remains in custody."
