Frightening CCTV video shows the moment a mother, who was putting her children to bed, discovered a gang of burglars in her house in London.

Footage from the attack on March 8, 2016 was released by police and shows the masked gang creeping into the house. The victim, who has not been named, can be seen walking along the hall, before screaming as she eyes the thugs.

One of the intruders is caught on camera grabbing her and throwing her through a doorway.

The brave young mother told the court of her terror in court.

"Obviously time is a big healer, but in some ways [the effects] haven’t been diminished," she said.

"It’s one of those cases when you hear a noise in the night and you never think it’s going to be anything ... Everything from then on was slow motion.

"You look across, and I saw the masked person. My son and I were in my bedroom. There were men pushing me, grabbing me, asking me 'give me the money'.

"My son was crying, only six years-old, 'leave my mum alone, just take the money and go.'"

Four of her attackers, who also burgled 15 other properties in recent months, were jailed for a combined 23 years.

Stephen Kelly (22), Danny Logan (21), Beau Abououf (27) and Daniel Hill (22) were all linked to the raid by detectives.

These young men were all professional burglars who committed crime in order to fuel a lavish lifestyle, according to Detective Inspector James Hale of the Met’s Trident and Area Command.

"They have shown a complete disregard for the victims of their crimes, many of whom have suffered severe financial and psychological damage."
