THE new hotel owned by Wimbledon champion Andy Murray is being investigated by travel site Tripadvisor – after five star reviews appeared before it opened.

Andy Murray owns the Cromlix Hotel in Kinbuck, Perthshire.

A spokesperson for the Tripadvisor said an investigation was launched into allegations the reviews were 'incentivised'.

The reviews praised the 'Wimbledon colour court', the 'fabulous Victorian building', and the bed’s duvet cover which 'had to be experienced'.

However the hotel has clarified that there was no error with the dates of the reviews – over one hundred guests stayed at the hotel before its official opening as part of a dry run.

Even though the guests stayed free of charge, that didn’t ban the customers from leaving reviews on the hotel.

During the peak season guests can expect to shell out up to €650 for just one night at the hotel.
