Alitalia Plane skids off runway at Rome airport
AN Alitalia plane skidded off the runway at Rome's Fiumicino airport after its landing gear malfunctioned.
No one was injured, according to ANSA.
The plane was landing during a thunderstorm, it is understood.
The plane, an Airbus A320, was flying from Madrid and had 151 passengers aboard.
Italy's national air transport safety agency said it had opened an investigation into the incident and sent two officers to look at the plane.
