'EastEnder' bankrupt

FORMER 'EastEnder's' star Martine McCutcheon (36) has been declared bankrupt.

The 'Love Actually' actress (36), petitioned for bankruptcy at Kingston-Upon-Thames County Court.

McCutcheon shot to fame at the age of 18 as Tiffany in BBC1 soap 'EastEnders'.

She also published a novel, 'The Mistress' in 2009, and starred with Hugh Grant in 2003 film 'Love Actually'.

According to her management's website, she is working on a second novel.

Lung cancer rise

LUNG cancer has overtaken breast cancer as the most lethal form of the disease for women in the UK.

Scientists predict that by the middle of the decade it will be the main cause of women's cancer death in Europe. New figures show that the lung cancer death rate among women in the UK now stands at 21 per 100,000 women. Deaths from lung cancer have risen by 7pc for women since 2009.

TV is dead scary

A MONTANA television station's regular programme was interrupted by news of a zombie apocalypse.

The Montana Television Network says hackers broke into the Emergency Alert System of Great Falls affiliate KRTV and its CW station. The 'Great Falls Tribune' reported the hoax alert, claiming "dead bodies are rising from their graves", generated at least four calls to police.

Crocodile tears

THE world's largest saltwater crocodile in captivity has died, moving villagers to tears in the small Philippine town that had started to draw tourists, revenue and development because of it.

The crocodile had been blamed for deadly attacks on people before it was captured in 2011 and sent to an eco-tourism park, where it became a star attraction.
