The unidentified man, aged in his twenties and dressed in grey shorts and a red shirt, was tackled by one of his fellow passengers then hit and kicked by a number of other men on the flight from Hong Kong to Vladivostok.

Around half a dozen passengers subdued the man after he reportedly became abusive towards a woman sitting across from him, said the Russian news channel Vostok Media.

Shouts of "beat him" rang out as the man was restrained.

The man was then forced to the floor of the aircraft and tied him up with seat belts and plastic tape.

When the plane landed in Vladivostok, the man was detained by local police.

The footage was captured by another passenger and later published online.
