Wearing a Captain America t-shirt and camouflage shorts, police asked James Lacroix what he was doing there, to which he replied, “Looking for Katy Perry”.

He also stated he would like to speak with the Kennedys.

The Kennedy Compound, a massive waterfront property on six acres of land, was once the home of American political figure Joseph P. Kennedy, his wife Rose, and their children John, Robert (both later assassinated) and Ted.

CNN reports that officers went to the iconic house in the village of Hyannis Port after receiving a call from a neighbour who said he had phoned his property to check on his teenage son and a stranger answered.

Police found a black car parked outside the home.

Inside, they found the 53-year-old man in the kitchen, said Police Officer John O'Hare.

The teen was also in the kitchen; he was unharmed.

The man told police he had been there for three hours and was looking for the pop singer.

He was arrested on charges of breaking and entering..

It is believed he was able to enter the home through an unlocked door.
