A terminal of Copenhagen Airport has been evacuated due to a terror alert reportedly sparked by a suspicious bag, an airport spokeswoman has said.

Copenhagen Police confirmed the ongoing incident in a tweet but provided no further comment.

And while the exact nature of the incident remained unclear, it follows a series of high-profile cancelled events, flights and appearances in the days since the Paris attacks.

With Europe on edge, two major international football matches were called off on Tuesday night, while two Air France flights were forced to land due to bomb threats which later appeared to be hoaxes.
