Christians at risk in Biblical heartland

Christianity faces being wiped out of the "Biblical heartland" in the Middle East, a new report says.

It warns that Christians suffer greater hostility than any other religion, and claims politicians have been "blind" to the extent of violence in Africa and the Middle East.

The most common threat is militant Islam, it says, claiming that oppression in Muslim countries is often ignored.

The report, by think tank Civitas, says: "Christians are targeted more than any other body of believers."
