Caught on CCTV: Victim of shocking 'coward punch' needed emergency surgery

A man in his twenties has handed himself into ACT Police at City Police Station in Canberra to assist them in their investigations into a 'coward punch' attack.
The attack happened in the early hours of New Year's Eve in Civic and was caught on CCTV.
The ACT police had issued a call for witnesses into the attack, which saw the victim need emergency surgery.
Around 2.45am on New Year's Day, the male victim was punched in the side of the head by an unidentified male outside the 'Supa 24' convenience store located on East Row, Civic. He was knocked unconscious and later found on the ground by police.
The victim had to undergo emergency surgery as a result of his injuries.
Police are looking for man who is described as being 5’6” and 5’11 inches tall (170cm – 180cm) with dark complexion. He was wearing a grey T-shirt and black pants at the time of the incident.
