Bishop sorry for insulting royals

A Church of England bishop apologised for "deeply offensive" comments he made over the forthcoming wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The Rt Rev Pete Broadbent, Bishop of Willesden, in comments posted on Facebook, warned that the marriage may last only seven years and reportedly referred to the royal family as "philanderers".

Japan minister to step down

Japan's justice minister is to resign to take full responsibility for recent comments seen as deriding his duty to respond to questioning in the parliament, according to media reports.

The news came as a key opposition party was preparing for a censure motion against Minoru Yanagida.

Sheen 'grabbed porn star throat'

Norris Church Mailer, the sixth and final wife of Norman Mailer, has died at the age of 61.

Her death was confirmed by Dwayne Raymond, a long-time family friend and personal assistant. The cause of death was not given, but she had been ill with cancer in recent years.
