Balkans flooding strands thousands
Rescuers are waiting for improved weather to resume the helicopter evacuations of thousands of people trapped on their roofs in flooded areas of the Balkans. Water in some towns has reached to the second floor.
Officials in Bosnia and Serbia have described the floods as the worst in history. Additionally, reports in Bosnia said more than 200 landslides have buried houses and injured people but caused no casualties.
EU Forces in Bosnia said neither they nor the Bosnian Army are able to reach some towns except by air, but poor visibility grounded helicopters on Friday.
In Serbia authorities said they have so far managed to evacuate 4,000 people while rescuers in Bosnia said they have been digging through debris for 48 hours and still have not reached cut-off towns.
