WATCH: Shocking CCTV footage of pram rolling into path of moving train released
An Australian rail company has released shocking footage of a pram rolling into the path of a moving train.
The footage, supplied by Queensland Rail, shows the empty pram flying through the air while a mother tends to her son.
There is significant damage done to the pram, which thankfully was not occupied at the time.
Queensland Rail General Manager for Safety, Assurance and Environment Greg Fill said the incident was shows how easily an accident can occur.
"It’s a sobering reminder of the importance of being vigilant at stations and on platforms, especially when travelling with children and objects such as prams,” he said.
“A second is all it takes for an incident like this to turn from a close call to something much worse."
Although this incident was a near miss with nobody injured, it can still cause trauma for drivers, according to train driver Peter Cohen.
"These types of incidents are often shocking and traumatic for train drivers. Some train drivers are repeatedly suffering trauma as a result."
