A VIDEO has emerged of passengers on a Melbourne bus verbally abusing a French woman, with one passenger telling her to "speak English or die".
The incident, which happened last week on the city’s Frankston bus route, was filmed by passenger Mike Nayna.
Nayna told Melbourne paper The Herald Sun that the abuse began after the woman began to sing in French, along with some other backpackers.
A female passenger began to chant “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie” at her, with many others at the front of the bus joining in.
The woman began to sing even louder in French in defiance of the abuse, however this only served to further infuriate the abusive passengers.
One of them allegedly threw a rock through the window aimed at the woman after getting off the bus.
