SHOW and tell in an Australian school had to be abandoned after a girl brought a grenade to class with her.
The school was evacuated and the grenade taken for examination by army munitions experts – however it was determined to be an inactive device, possibly from the First World War.
The school's 450 students and 60 teachers were evacuated after the girl's teacher brought the grenade to the principal.
Police said the device would now probably be destroyed. A spokesperson added that the school acted in the appropriate manner by evacuating the schools.
