Video: Leopard attacks locals in West Bengal Indian village

An angry adult, male leopard has savaged more than ten people in an Indian village.

The animal, which died from injuries sustained during the showdown, also attacked wildlife officials who were trying to calm it down and move it to a nearby wildlife sanctuary.

The officials were forced to jump on a jeep to escape the assault in West Bengal state, over 400km from Calcutta.

But not before the leopard, fangs bared, assaulted a man and knocked him off a wall.

Six villagers, a policeman and a number of forest guards, were injured before the animal was finally hit with a tranquilizer gun,
