AT least 26 people are reported dead after fireworks for Chinese Lunar New Year exploded inside a truck in the centre of the country, destroying a 260ft stretch of motorway
The truck was "loaded with firecrackers" when it exploded near Sanmenxia in Henan province, China National Radio has reported.
The move also sent other vehicles crashing off 98ft bridge.
The truck had been transporting "explosives", according to reports, which said at least six vehicles had been "retrieved from the debris".
Search and rescue efforts are underway.
