PIC: Giant 5 foot lizard snapped scaling wall of home
A man did a double take when he caught sight of a 5 foot lizard climbing up the exterior wall of his house.
Eric Holland had been working in his shed in Thurgonna, New South Wales in Australia when he glimpsed the goanna scurrying across his property.
The Guardian report that once Holland had composed himself he managed to grab his camera from inside his house and get a picture of the huge reptile.
"I saw movement as I came out of the shed and I had a look and thought, bloody hell what is this thing?
"When I recovered from the shock I went inside and got a camera," he said.
Goannas are typically found in eastern Australia but usually live in the bush.
They are carnivorous reptiles that feature heavily in Aboriginal mythology.

The creatures are quite bulky with sharp teeth and claws.
Goannas tend to avoid humans but are classed as dangerous because of their bite.
