Dead cat stew allegedly used to kill businessman

AN official in southern China has been arrested for murder after he allegedly poisoned a bowl of pork rib and cat meat stew to kill a businessman.

Huang Guang, a forestry official in the small town of Bajia, Guangdong province, helped Long Liyuan get planning permission for construction projects in return for bribes.

On the day of his death, Mr Long, Mr Huang and a third man, Huang Wen, ordered the stew at a restaurant.

The police believe Mr Huang added poison to the pot but did not explain why he would poison a meal he went on to eat. (©Daily Telegraph, London)
