CAMPAIGN staff in one of the closest elections in Australia's history have come to blows in the street.
There have been at least four alleged incidents of assault involving candidates or their team members since the campaign began almost five weeks ago. Julia Gillard, the prime minister, and Tony Abbott, her opponent, have intervened, calling for both sides to "behave".
The election is on this Saturday and recent polls have put the Labour government on 51pc to the Liberal-National Coalition's 48pc. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
