You can buy a lifesize cardboard cutout of Theresa May - but is it strong and stable?

By Prudence Wade

There’s a Jeremy Corbyn one too, in case you were wondering.

It’s the election accessory you never knew you needed: a lifesize cardboard cutout of Theresa May.

Yes, for the low price of £37.70, a 170cm tall replica of the current Prime Minister could be yours – but not everyone who supposedly bought it is entirely enamoured with their purchase.

In the reviews, everyone seemed to be making the same joke, taking the slogan for May’s campaign as a jumping off point. “It’s not very ‘strong’ or ‘stable’ ” one writes, and another says: “Not very strong or stable, I knocked it over and it snapped.” Ouch.

Others were just plain rude – and not particularly subtle either. One writes “That’s it – I just hate it – one star.”

This theme is carried on in the reviews of the 175cm cutout of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. One says: “Brilliant product. Head and shoulders above the rest in terms of stability and strength” and another writes: “Best on the market. Very robust and strong, excellent value for money.”

And in case you were wondering, people who viewed the cutout of May also viewed some men’s black trainers, a periscope-style camera and a Corbyn face mask. Sure.
