Were Charlton drawn twice in the League Cup first-round draw?

This is going to stretch the squad a little.

The first-round draw of the League Cup, currently known as the Carabao Cup, is not exactly headline stuff, but when one team is apparently drawn twice it raises eyebrows.

That was the situation fans of Charlton were faced with when the graphic for the draw, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand, showed them to be hosting Cheltenham while also playing Exeter away.

With Exeter around 200 miles from Charlton’s stadium, that’s going to be a bit of a stretch.

It was all a bit silly.

Anyone for a Charlton v Charlton final? An easy one to call at least.

Charlton will in fact be playing away at Exeter, while Cheltenham are away at Oxford.

The BBC also reported a lack of sound on the live feed of the draw on Facebook, while AFC Wimbledon and Swindon were erroneously shown to be playing one another.

That’s not possible as both teams were unseeded for the draw – Wimbledon are in fact playing Brentford, while Swindon will play Norwich.

And while it was a bit farcical, it kind of fits in with the League Cup’s aesthetic, doesn’t it?
