United Airlines is being mercilessly mocked after a passenger was dragged from his seat
Think lots of films with fighting and some creative new mottos.
Twitter has lit up with memes mocking the shocking incident that happened on board an overbooked United Airlines flight.
Video emerged yesterday of a bloodied and distressed passenger being dragged from his seat and down the aisle by his arms.
Twitter users decided to inject the situation with some scathing humour by creating memes referring to films like Fight Club, Star Wars and Snakes On A Plane.
Many have suggested some alternative mottos for the company.
And some compared it to Pepsi’s recent drama with their advert featuring Kendall Jenner at an equality march which was pulled for “missing the mark” after a huge online backlash.
United was trying to make room for four employees of a partner airline on the Sunday evening flight from Chicago to Louisville, Kentucky – but the way they dealt with it has left the internet enraged.
United Airlines spokesman Charlie Hobart said three of the four customers the airline said had to leave the plane did so, but the fourth refused and so the police were called.
He said: “We followed the right procedures. That plane had to depart. We wanted to get our customers to their destinations.”
