Welsh male voice choir Only Men Aloud are proving to be a surprise hit in Malaysia

A choir which found fame through a TV talent contest have expressed their bemusement after unexpectedly finding a new fan base - in Malaysia.

One of their cover versions has become a YouTube hit after a group of men attending a wedding in the Far East parodied the Welsh singers' performance.

A group of nine pals, called The Jimbang, filmed themselves miming to Only Men Aloud's take on Robbie Williams' hit Angels.

It was first broadcast as a "surprise presentation" at a wedding in Malaysia, before being uploaded on to the internet.

Like Only Men Aloud, The Jimbang are suited and booted, only for the camera to pan back to reveal that each chorister is missing his trousers.

Only Men Aloud's Craig Yates said: "We picked this up on YouTube and think it's great.

"People say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and they've done a really professional job.

"It's strange to think we've played a part in a Malaysian couple's happy day, and we wish Kevin and Debbie a great life together."

After winning BBC talent contest Last Choir Standing in 2008, Only Men Aloud penned a multimillion-pound record deal with Universal Music and have released two albums.

Last year, the group won the best album at the Classical Brit Awards, and they will tour the UK in December.
