This young Lib Dem supporter got the party's name shaved on the side of his head
Jack Haines said the haircut was the “purest example” of his commitment to the party.
A young voter has shown his commitment to his party with a haircut dedicated to the Liberal Democrats.
Jack Haines, 18, from Hull, was urged to shave “Lib Dem” into the sides of his haircut by friends, weeks before the General Election on June 8.
The student, studying British politics and legislative studies at Hull University, booked himself into a local hairdresser after he decided to go ahead.
He said the haircut is the “purest example” of his passion for the Lib Dems. He’s been a member since 2015.
He said: “It was done in good humour but at the end of the day the Lib Dems are a party I’m very passionate about and hope to have a future with.”
He said the reaction to his haircut has been mixed, with a lot of people questioning why he chose to dedicate a space on the side of his head to Tim Farron’s party.
Others have commended him on his interest in politics as young person.
The teenager is the Liberal Youth officer for Hull, working in local constituencies to get “the best possible results” for the party.
