The draw was made for the League Cup second round and literally everyone is confused
Many were left scratching their heads at the broadcast.
Sky Sports hosted the second round draw of the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening, and it didn’t pan out as hoped.
The draw was mired in confusion as both John Salako and Alex McLeish drew teams out of bowls in front of them, and an extra bowl in the middle. Sound confusing? It was for this lot.

Even some of the clubs involved were wondering where they would be playing during the week of August 21.

There were even questions about which clubs were designated ‘northern’ and ‘southern’, although it turns out some of these decisions were made to prevent some teams who needed to play away from home from having to play each other.
This League Cup thing. Why was Burton in the southern draw, but Newport in the northern draw? Burton is far further north than Newport, no?— Ashley Fulwood (@AshleyFulwood) August 10, 2017
This isn’t the first time this season the cup has had issues with the draw. In the first round draw several fixtures were published incorrectly.
Anyway, this is apparently the final list of second round fixtures, so that should clear up any confusion.
At least it was entertaining.
