Sinkhole forces closure of California street

Residents of a California town have had to find a diversion after a sinkhole alomst 20 foot deep opened up in the middle of a road.

Police in Madera said a large portion of Schnoor Avenue had collapsed, leaving a hole 12ft by 15ft wide, and about 15 to 20ft deep.

A spokesman said the exact cause was unknown, but ti was thought recent rains could be to blame.
