Chief Inspector Kim Molloy, from Nottinghamshire Police, will now stand trial in a crown court accused of one count of theft.

The 44-year-old appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court wearing a cream coat and green scarf.

The court heard she is accused of stealing Max Factor make-up worth £12.72 from a Tesco store in Top Valley, Nottingham, on November 24 last year.

Molloy, who is currently suspended from Nottinghamshire Police, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

She was given unconditional bail until April 30, when she will return to be committed to a crown court to stand trial.
