Workmen may have missed a bit when repainting yellow lines after tarmacking a road.

They filled in several potholes along Frampton Road in the Linden area of Gloucester but only painted over what they had repaired - leaving the remaining old, faded lines in the street untouched.

One local resident posted a picture of the newly painted lines on Facebook.

He said: "Roadworks recently completed along my street. Solid performance repainting the double yellow lines."

Last year workmen got the word 'bus' wrong in the Old Market area of Bristol when they painted "Bup Stop" onto the road in large yellow lettering.

A Gloucestershire County Council spokeswoman said: "We will inspect the road to see if the works were carried out by our contractor or a utility company and then request they are repainted in full as soon as possible."
