Midsomer Murders star John Nettles 'has not cried since 1970'
John Nettles claims he has not cried for 45 years.
The Midsomer Murders star said the last time he shed a tear was in 1970 when his father died.
"I haven't cried since - things have got too serious," the 72-year-old told the Sunday Express's S Magazine.
"I've been to six memorial services this year - six! I thought I might as well just stay in the church and go to my own next week. It's ridiculous."
The actor, who played Jim Bergerac in the hit TV crime series, also revealed his daughter Emma and wife Cath are his best friends.
"Somebody remarked to me that to have a wife who's also your best friend is a gift from God and I think that's right," he added.
