'Meteor' lights up Argentinian sky

A suspected meteor lit up the night sky early on Sunday in Salta, Argentina

Concert-goers in northern Argentina have been treated to a light show with a difference.

A suspected meteor lit up the night sky early on Sunday in Salta, as the folk music band Los Tekis performed at an outdoor venue.

The spectacle happened at about 3.30am local time (6.30am GMT), according to local media reports.

Amateur video filmed at the concert showed the suspected meteor falling towards earth and bursting into a dazzling light that turned the night sky blue.

According to local media, it was also seen in the city of Santiago del Estero, approximately 250 miles to the south of Salta.
