Men invent excuses to dodge rides

Fathers come up with some unlikely excuses to avoid going on theme park rides, ranging from faking a telephone call to saying they are too thin, according to a new study.
A top 10 list of excuses has been drawn up by Thorpe Park in Surrey, showing that men are the family member most likely to invent an excuse for "wimping out" of a ride.
Spokesman Brendan Walker said: "Bravery levels peak in your teens which could explain why kids are braver than their dads."
The most used excuses include: I'll stay and keep your mother company; Someone needs to stay with the bags; I'm too tall/short/fat/thin; Rollercoasters aggravate my old football injury; I might be sick.
