Barristers say seagulls have been causing a nuisance near the Royal Courts of Justice in London

Legal eagles are using hawks to stop seagulls swooping on lawyers in London.

A barristers' society based near the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand has employed a falconer who is patrolling its grounds.

The hawks can be seen tethered to perches on lawns belonging to the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn.

A spokeswoman for the society said seagulls had been a nuisance and the hawks were being used to scare them off.
