Leaky celebration condoms recalled
More than a million condoms given away at the African National Congress party's centenary celebrations have been recalled after some broke and they were found to be leaky.
South Africa Aids activist Sello Mokhalipi complained after scores of people came to his Treatment Action Campaign offices saying the condoms burst.
He said they poured water into the condoms and "they leaked like sieves".
Provincial health department spokesman Jabu Mbalula said his department recalled the 1.35 million condoms to conduct scientific tests.
Tens of thousands of people attended the celebrations.
South Africa has the highest number of Aids victims in the world.
