Kwik Fit tyre workout classes claim to make you Fit Kwik
Kale juice, fad diets and Lycra are all off the menu at a new fitness class being trialled at a London car garage this month.
Kwik Fit technicians and personal trainer Mikah Simpson have designed the workout using only car and van tyres.
The stripped down, no-frills exercise regime is being launched by the car servicing giant, with initial sessions available from their New Kent Road centre billed as Fit Kwik.
The back-to-basics fitness class, consisting of tyre flips, lifts and throws - during which participants can expect to burn up to 1,200 calories - is being trialled in the heart of south London. Each free session lasts 30 minutes and runs on four Sunday mornings throughout January.
The class was devised after Kwik Fit technicians noticed a link between their fitness levels and the amount of time spent lifting hefty tyres on a daily basis.
Personal trainer Mr Simpson said: "There's no doubt tyres are a brilliant foundation to a work out - not only for lifting, but on the floor during cardio exercises.
"The most important thing when getting fit is to simply get started and do something you enjoy. We promise to create a fun atmosphere and leave participants feeling that they've done something worthwhile."
Details about the class are available on the Kwik Fit website.
