Knitted plastic bags boost charity

A local food store owner who has set up shop 100 yards from a Tesco supermarket is fighting plastic with plastic.
Polly Plouviez, who runs Urban Larder in Mill Road, Cambridge, is selling shopping bags made from knitted supermarket plastic carriers.
"It's hard to compete with superstores," said Miss Plouviez, whose multi-coloured bags generate funds for a local homeless people's charity.
"I've decided that if you can't beat them, knit with them."
