JFK hearse to be sold at auction
A US auction house specialising in collectible classic cars plans to sell the hearse used to carry the body of President John F Kennedy from a Dallas hospital to Air Force One.
Barrett-Jackson Auction Co says the 1964 Cadillac hearse will go under the hammer on January 21.
O'Neal Funeral Home of Dallas used the hearse to bring a bronze casket to the hospital on November 22 1963, the day of President Kennedy's assassination, then carried the casket containing the president's body to Love Field.
Earlier this year, Barrett-Jackson auctioned the ambulance used to carry the president's body from Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base to the Bethesda Naval Hospital.
