The Wolf Hall star revealed he and Charles share a fascination with the strange phenomenon.

Rylance, who stars as the BFG in Steven Spielberg's new adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl book, said he even sends crop circle literature to the Prince.

The pair met when Rylance went to talk to Charles about royalty and responsibility ahead of playing Henry V at London's Globe Theatre,

"He's just a human soul like you or I, but he's been born into this incredible fate," the actor told Australia's Sydney Morning Herald.

'And we correspond. He's interested in crop circles, too, so I send him my crop circle calendars and magazines that I buy and keep him informed. I'm his crop circle counsellor."
